Step-by-step procedure

Prepare the vehicle

Turn ignition ON (engine OFF).
Connect YOUCANIC scanner to OBD port.
Open diagnostic app and connect to vehicle.

Enter programming menu

Navigate to:

Module Programming → Programmable Parameters → Warning Lamps / Chimes

This opens instrument cluster warning settings.

Change seat belt warning setting

Find parameter:

Passenger seat belt warning light/alarm – IC

Available options:

Light Enabled / Alarm Enabled
Light Enabled / Alarm Disabled
Light Disabled / Alarm Disabled

👉 Select Light Enabled / Alarm Disabled or prefered option.

This keeps dashboard warning light but disables chime.

(Some vehicles may allow disabling both light and alarm.)

Save configuration

Confirm new setting.
Wait for tool to write changes.
Turn ignition OFF for ~10 seconds.
Turn ignition ON again.

Verify result

Start the car and check:

Seat belt icon still appears
Warning sound should be gone

If chime still plays:

re-enter menu
confirm setting saved
cycle ignition again
