Renault Laguna II Phase 2: Turn Off the Seatbelt Warning Chime in the Instrument Cluster

By Juraj · Last updated October 12, 2026

This guide shows how to turn off the seatbelt warning chime on a Renault Laguna II Phase 2 by changing one setting in the instrument cluster configuration. The seatbelt warning light stays on the dash, only the beeping stops.

I earn from qualifying purchases and sometimes get tools for free (full disclosure). It never affects my scoring.

This video shows how to change the seatbelt warning buzzer setting in the instrument cluster from With to Without.

Technical overview

SystemInstrument cluster
Procedure typeConfiguration change
DifficultyEasy
Time required~5 minutes
PrerequisitesIgnition on with the engine stopped, a scanner with Renault configuration functions

Step-by-step procedure

Ignition on, engine off

The seatbelt buzzer setting asks for ignition on with the engine stopped. If the engine is running, stop it and leave the ignition on.

Identify the car

Run AutoSearch. If it does not identify the car, select Renault and use automatic model detection. If that fails too, select Laguna Ph2 manually.

Open the seatbelt buzzer setting

Go to Instrument cluster, then Configurations, then Seatbelt warning buzzer.

Change With to Without

Set the value from With to Without and confirm. The scanner reports Command finished. On my car I heard a relay click at that moment.

Check the result

The seatbelt warning light is still on the dash, but the chime is gone.

Additional information & compatibility notes

Before using or purchasing any diagnostic tool for this procedure, always verify compatibility with your exact vehicle model, year and system configuration. Supported functions may vary depending on software version, hardware revision and regional limitations.

I did this with the Thinkscan 689BT Pro. The change removes only the chime, the seatbelt warning light stays on.
