Time required~5 minutes
PrerequisitesCarista app, compatible OBD adapter, customization access (Carista paid feature)

Step-by-step procedure

Open the hood

Pop the hood from the cabin release. You don't need to lift it fully, just unlatch it so it pops up.

Connect Carista and open Customize

Plug your adapter into the OBD port, pair Carista, and go into the Customize menu. Give it a moment to read the car.

Open the right category

Once it finishes loading, select the Dings and warnings category. Both settings you need live in here.

Change the two settings

This is the part most people get wrong. There are two separate settings, and you have to change both or the chime keeps coming back.

  1. Seatbelt warning: change from Enabled to Disabled.
  2. Seatbelt warning style: change from EU (or US) to No seatbelt warning.

Save and let Carista write the change.

Verify

Start the car, sit without the belt, and confirm the chime and the dash warning stay quiet. If the visual warning is gone but you still hear a beep, recheck that the style is set to No seatbelt warning.
