How much do I need to spend on tools?
About 500 dollars to start; the exact list is in the free toolbox guide and in the course. Nothing in the course requires buying a kit from me. Over time you add tools as jobs pay for them; a capable key programmer plus an ECU flasher takes the total past 2,000 dollars.
Do I need to solder?
A lot can be done without it, and for many modules there are adapters that replace soldering. But learn it anyway: one day there will be no adapter and no other way in. It is easier than it looks, and there is a lesson on learning it on a practice board first.
Will I be able to do every car?
No. Nobody can. You will know how these jobs are done, how to find out what a specific car needs, and when to say no.
