Step-by-step procedure
Prepare the car
- Turn ignition ON (engine OFF).
- Connect YOUCANIC scanner to OBD port.
- Open diagnostic app and connect to vehicle.
Enter service reset menu
- Select vehicle manually or via VIN.
- Go to:
Service → Maintenance Reset - Tool will ask to choose service mode:
- Old Mode
- New Mode
👉 Select New Mode for Fabia Mk3.
Reset oil service (Small maintenance)
- Choose Small Maintenance
- Confirm reset
- Wait for confirmation message
This resets:
- oil service counter
However, the wrench light may still remain.
Reset inspection service (High maintenance)
- Return to maintenance menu
- Select High Maintenance
- Confirm reset
This resets:
- inspection/service interval
- dashboard wrench icon
After this step, the service light should disappear.
Verify reset
- Turn ignition OFF
- Turn ignition ON again
- Check instrument cluster
No service reminder should be shown now.
Why both resets are needed on VAG cars
On many VW/Škoda models, there are two separate counters:
Small maintenance
- oil change interval
High maintenance
- inspection/service reminder
If you reset only oil service, the wrench icon often stays on.
That’s why both resets are usually required after full service.

Service reset should only be performed after completing the required maintenance. Resetting service intervals without replacing engine oil may lead to incorrect maintenance tracking and possible engine damage. Always verify oil level and condition after service.
