If you own a Toyota or Lexus, this might be the most convenient professional-grade tool you can buy as a DIY mechanic. It’s basically a full system scanner with bi-directional tests, full-system live data, service procedures, and ECU coding, but without the typical yearly subscription fees that other brands require.
Unlike multi-brand scanners, this model is optimized specifically for Toyota/Lexus, which makes its communication extremely stable and fast — especially for newer CAN cars where cheap tools often struggle.

My Review of Launch Creader Elite V2.0 Toyota/Lexus
I tested it with my Corolla 2022, and immediately noticed how stable and fast Toyota communication is with this device. Because it’s brand-specific, the scanner has access to the exact modules, exact PIDs, and coding functions Toyota uses — very close to Techstream.
➤ Setup is easy
Plug it into the OBD port → turn on ignition → Auto Detect → VIN reads automatically → Full scan starts instantly.
Since it’s wired, scanning is extremely fast compared to Bluetooth tools.
Full-system scan (very fast)
It scanned every Toyota module in seconds and immediately generated a PDF diagnostic report.
You can send it to your email and print — perfect for used car inspection.
If there are faults, each module opens with:
- Read codes
- Freeze frame
- Clear codes
- Full live data
- Actuation tests
- Special functions
- ECU customization
This is why the tool is so powerful:
Every module supports pro features, not just the engine.
Live Data (All Toyota Modules)
With Toyota ECUs, you get a LOT of live data.
Engine alone on my Corolla had over 200 PIDs.
You can graph up to 4 at once, create your own data list, and even combine graphs.
Example from AC module:
I selected blower motor speed and immediately saw changes on the graph when increasing/decreasing fan speed.
Only complaint:
There is no search bar inside module live data.
When a module has 80–150 PIDs, scrolling can get slow.
Launch should add search.
Bi-Directional Tests
One of the strongest features.
Works in every system that supports tests, including:
- Engine (fan, injectors, EVAP, fuel pump relay, etc.)
- Body electronics (locks, headlights, windows)
- Mirrors
- AC
- Wipers
- ABS and more
Example:
In Body module I tested:
- Door lock
- Headlights
- Wiper motor
- Window auto functions
All worked instantly.
You can also record live data while running tests, which helps when diagnosing injectors or valves.
Service Procedures
This device includes a big list of Toyota service resets:
- DPF regeneration
- Oil reset
- EPB retraction (for brake service)
- ABS bleeding
- Battery registration
- Throttle body adaptation
- Steering angle reset
- Airbag reset
- TPMS reset
…and more (depends on model).
For DIY mechanics, these alone make the tool worth it.
ECU Coding (Customization Menu)
This is where Launch Creader Elite surprises many people.
You can customize Toyota hidden features, similar to what Carista or Techstream does.
Examples from my Corolla:
- Enable/disable seatbelt chimes
- Enable window open/close from key fob
- Change door lock behavior
- Lighting settings
- Auto-headlight sensitivity
- Warning settings
- Power window behaviors
- Smart key settings
This depends heavily on car model:
- Newer Toyotas = many customizations
- Older Toyotas = few or none
Still, for modern Toyota/Lexus, it’s extremely useful.
