Vdiagtool D200 Tested | Owner’s review
Last Updated on April 11, 2026 by Juraj
I tested VDIAGTOOL D200 myself on my Volkswagen Touareg. I already reviewed several VDIAGTOOL scanners before. This one uses Xtool-style software, which is one of my favorites, so I wanted to see how it performs in real diagnostics.

Real-world procedures tested with this tool
VDIAGTOOL D200 is a Bluetooth OBD2 scanner aimed at DIY users. It focuses on diagnostics, service resets, live data, freeze frame, and actuator tests. It does not support ECU coding.
Software layout, menus, and behavior are clearly Xtool-based. If you used Xtool scanners before, this will feel very familiar.

Test Results on Real Cars
I tested it on real cars.
• Volkswagen Touareg
Connection was easy. Plug it in, turn ignition ON, and the app connects automatically. No manual pairing needed.
Auto VIN detection worked and correctly identified the Touareg.
Full system scan took around 6 minutes. That is normal for a smartphone-based scanner. While the scan is running, you can already open modules and view fault codes.
Most VW modules showed stored faults. Some modules were fault-free, which is normal.
You can enter any single control module directly. Inside each module you can:
• Read and clear fault codes
• View control unit information
• Check live data
• View freeze frame (if available)
• Run actuator tests
Clearing faults works as expected. Static faults return immediately if conditions are still present. This is normal ECU behavior.
