Opel Corsa C 2006 Instrument Cluster Swap and Programming

Step-by-step procedure
Before you touch the new cluster, you need two numbers. The security code of the car the cluster came from, and the security code of your own car. Without both, you can’t move a cluster between cars.
1. Read the security code from the donor cluster (still in its original car, or on bench power).
Autel path: Opel > Automatic selection > Pre-Scan > Instrument > Special function > Get security code.
Opcom path: 2006> Corsa-C > Body > Instrument cluster > EEprom menu > Read security code
For this cluster the code came back as 2227.
2. Connect the cluster to your car and open the instrument cluster module.
Opcom identifies it as VAUX-COM Corsa-C/Meriva/Tigra-B IPC Programming, running at 009600 bps, KW82 protocol, pin #12. It read back the cluster’s own data: Part Number 13173347, Alpha Code WA, Production Date 0904.
3. Reset the cluster using the donor car’s security code.
This puts the cluster into a virgin state so it can accept a new password. In the “Enter Security Code” dialog, enter the donor code, 2227 in this case, not your own car’s code.

Opcom confirmed: “Reset Completed Successfully.”
4. Program the cluster with your own car’s security code.
Same “Enter Security Code” dialog, this time enter your own car’s code, 5798.
⚠️ First attempt failed here. Programming failed straight after a successful reset, same session, same cable, same cluster. No error detail beyond “Programming failed.”
🔧 What actually got it working. I left it and came back the next day. Two things were different on the second attempt: I turned the ignition off and waited a bit after the reset step instead of going straight into programming, and I was also running a different Opcom software build, same version number but from a different provider. I can’t say for certain which one fixed it, possibly both did. Programming went through first try on attempt two.
5. Verify.
Cluster powers up normally with your car’s own security code active. No warning lights related to the IPC module, odometer and gauges read correctly.
