About Juraj Lukacko

Hi, I’m Juraj Lukacko (often called Yuri), founder of IamCarHacker.

I specialize in automotive diagnostics, OBD2 scanners, ECU coding, and troubleshooting modern vehicles using diagnostic tools. My goal is simple: help DIY mechanics understand their cars and avoid wasting money on bad tools or incorrect repairs.

What started as frustration with unreliable mechanics quickly turned into a passion for learning how modern cars actually work. I began experimenting with diagnostic tools, testing different scanners, and analyzing live data directly from vehicles.

Today I regularly test diagnostic equipment and publish practical guides based on real hands-on diagnostics.

Hands-on diagnostics experience

Unlike many review websites, I personally test diagnostic tools on real vehicles before recommending them.

  • testing 100+ OBD2 scanners and diagnostic tools
  • analyzing engine live data and fault codes
  • performing ECU coding and service procedures
  • diagnosing electrical faults and sensor problems
  • testing diagnostic tools across many vehicle platforms

Vehicles and brands I work with

Most of my work focuses on European vehicles, but the diagnostic tools I test are used across many different brands.

  • BMW
  • Volkswagen / Audi / Skoda / Seat
  • Mercedes-Benz
  • Renault / Nissan / Dacia
  • Peugeot / Citroën
  • Opel
  • Toyota / Lexus

Because OBD2 scanners are usually designed for multi-brand diagnostics, many of the tools I test also work with vehicles from other manufacturers around the world.

What you will find on IamCarHacker

  • OBD2 scanner reviews and comparisons
  • step-by-step diagnostic procedures
  • real troubleshooting examples
  • guides for choosing the right diagnostic tools

The goal is to help you diagnose car problems faster and choose diagnostic tools that actually work in real situations.

How I test diagnostic tools

  • vehicle compatibility
  • module access and system coverage
  • live data accuracy
  • coding and service functions
  • reliability when working on real vehicles

Many tools look impressive on paper but behave very differently when connected to an actual car. My reviews focus on real-world testing, not just specifications.
