One-Click-Apps let regular users with no particular knowledge turn on, or off car functions with just one click on the screen.
Check this short video where I explain how these one-click apps work. I also used a bunch of them on the old Audi A3 and explained where you can check the possible one-click apps for any car model.
What can you customize for YOUR car model?
You can check possible customizations for your car model on their website!
Go to OBDeleven’s official website and look up the apps for your car model.
On the website, click on supported vehicles and pick your car model and year of production. Then scroll down and choose the apps to see all obd11 apps available for your car.
Are there OBD11 apps for every vehicle?
Yes, every car model has some one-click applications. However, the golden rule is this:
The newer the car, the more OBDeleven tweaks are available.
Just think about it, the newer cars come with more computers and electronics; therefore, there are more control units to be coded and more options to mess with.
3 Types of One-Click Applications
One-click applications are divided into three basic categories.
Adjustment apps | customization to your vehicle |
Retrofit apps | adapt newly installed components |
Workshop apps | apps for servicing the vehicle |
1. Adjustment apps
The largest category of apps is for adjustment. Here are few examples:
- Light Adjustments: Adjust daytime running lights, cornering lights, turn signals. Sync turn signals and fog lights.
- Comfort Settings: Control door auto-lock, remote window closing/opening, lock/unlock audible confirmation.
- Visual Features: Unlock needle sweep, gauge test, optical parking systems, change cockpit/dashboard themes, ambient colors.
- Additional Features: Add lap timer, more drive modes, automatic mirror folding/dipping for parking.
- Function Disabling: Turn off seat belt chime, turn off automatic stop/start function, disable other annoying features.
2. Retrofit apps
The retrofit app will help you adapt newly installed components like LED lights or washer fluid level sensors.
For example, you can put LED lights on your license plate. It looks pretty easy, but there could be some problems along the way. Modern cars keep track of the bulbs, so the driver knows if any are burned out or not working.
More examples of retrofit apps:
- Power folding mirrors
- Footwell lights
- LED bulbs (front, rear, license plate)
- Puddle lights
- Facelift taillights
- Rearview camera
- Lane assist
3. Workshop apps
The most used ones are probably OIL and Inspection Reset. These are annoying lights because if you change your oil yourself, you must visit a mechanic with a scan tool to reset the interval.
- Brake Caliper Service Position: Moves the electronic brake calipers into the service position to facilitate brake pad replacement.
- Oil Service Reset: Resets the oil change reminder and service interval after an oil change has been completed.
- Battery Replacement Registration: Registers a new battery with the vehicle’s computer system to ensure proper battery management and monitoring.
- ABS System Bleeding: Activates the ABS pump to assist in bleeding the brake system, ensuring that all air is removed from the brake lines.
- DPF Regeneration: Initiates a forced regeneration of the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) to clean and restore its functionality.
How to use one-click applications?
Let’s choose one application to make an example of. I picked a Needle Sweep, which makes your needles spin after you switch the ignition.
A needle sweep was initially used to test whether the car’s gauges worked correctly. Now it is more of a visual feature to make your car look more sporty.
How to activate a one-click app
- Go to the menu in the top left corner
- In the menu, pick “Car.”
- Go to the apps menu
- Find Needle Sweep or use the search on the top
- Change value from OFF to ON
- Hold a green confirmation button until It says Succes.
Cost of One-Click Apps
Each one-click app has its cost in OBDeleven credits. For most apps, it’s 10 credits, but rarely it is up to 100 credits for one change. If you make a change and want to switch back to the original setting, you will have to pay in credits again!
But don’t worry, there are multiple ways how you can go around this and make changes even without spending credits. You can either choose an ultimate plan that gives you unlimited credits, or you can use Coding in the app to make the desired change yourself.
